Prepare Your Home for 3D Photography

Did you decide to list your home this spring? You probably were hoping for "spring fever" buyers and a bidding war of offers. However, we now find that spring came with a pandemic, creating a new world of social distancing, video conferencing, and virtual experiences.

The real estate market needed to quickly adjust to maintain a strong market. Team Stacie is here to help you sell your home while staying safe and practicing real estate within the state's orders. We've implemented technology in the photography of your home to help potential buyers to see your home, as if in person, from their phone, laptop, or any interfacing technology. It allows the buyer the ability to virtually walk through every part of the home before making the commitment to schedule a showing. It's another layer to qualify the right buyer! Our new 3D tours of your listed home serve as a digital in-person walk-through.

To get your home "photo-ready " for a 3D photo shoot, we've prepared the following list of how to prepare your home in three steps, with our help when needed:

Step 1: Clean and Declutter

The best practice we've established for preparing your home for a 3D video shoot is to remember that the camera will pick up on everything from every angle. To best showcase your listed home, it needs to be what we call “photo ready.” That means that every corner of your home is clean, dust-free, and decluttered. All personal items are hidden (i.e., mail, remotes, coats, family photos, pet bowls). Clear all countertops of soap dispensers, sponges, toothbrushes, towels, tissue boxes, and any items that would prevent us from showing off your gorgeous finishes. Move trash cans out of sight and anything on your fridge. We also recommend putting away all items in showers and tubs (excluding decor). Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.

STEP 2: Stage Home for Videographong

We are here to help with this step! As a reminder, all lights need to be on (i.e., lamps, oven lights, cabinet lights, under-counter lights). Open all the curtains and all the doors to rooms or other areas that will appear on camera. Conceal all cords (interior/exterior) and hoses. Add vibrant/colorful decor where needed. This is the opportunity to highlight your home and grab buyers' interest.

STEP 3: Schedule Time Away

Since we are in a time of social distancing, it makes sense to schedule yourself away from the home during the shoot. The camera has a very broad range and takes pictures of every corner of the house, so there is nowhere to hide. The fewer people in the home, the quicker the shoot will be finished.

Are You Ready For A 3D Listed Home?

For some time now, home buyers see a home online first. We also call this the "first impression" stage of your home. The better you are able to help buyers see every nook and cranny of your home virtually, the better your chance of enticing the right buyer to your home and receiving an offer. If you’re planning to list your home this year, increase your home’s market value with a 3D home by Stacie Dias.
